Andrea Matsumura, M.D., M.S., FACP, FAASM, MSCP

Medical Advisor

Dr. Andrea Matsumura is a sleep and menopause expert, double board-certified in internal medicine and sleep medicine, and a certified menopause practitioner through The Menopause Society. She is the creator of the D.R.E.A.M. Sleep Method and the Sleep Goddess Archetype, and her work focuses on helping women understand and optimize sleep, circadian biology, and long-term health.

Dr. Matsumura trained at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed her internal medicine residency in Portland, Oregon, where she practiced primary care for 13 years before completing a sleep medicine fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Matsumura became a partner at The Oregon Clinic, where she built a large consultative service focused on women’s health and sleep. She currently serves as lead medical director of clinical services and medical home development at Cascadia Health, the largest communitywide healthcare organization in Oregon, and as chief of sleep services for Monarch MD, where she is advancing innovative, accessible models of sleep care.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Matsumura is active in public health and policy. She serves on the executive board of the Oregon Medical Association and is engaged in state-level healthcare policy and legislative efforts focused on improving patient access, equity, and health outcomes.

Dr. Matsumura is known for bringing clarity to complex topics in women’s health, particularly in midlife. Her work integrates physiology, behavior, and clinical strategy to help women restore sleep, improve health outcomes, and navigate menopause with precision. She is a sought-after speaker and media expert and has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, Shape, and Alloy Health, and on national television.
